Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 15 : Scotching rumours that Congress President Sonia Gandhi may cancel her visit to Kerala on December 30 in the wake of "political troubles" over the Kunhalikutty issue, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said his party chief's visit stood as scheduled.During her day-long trip, she would inaugurate the new building of the KPCC headquarters here and attend two programmes in Kottayam, Chandy told reporters.

He said there was no truth in the reports that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also cancelled his visit to the state scheduled for January 1 over the same issue. The Prime Minister postponed his trip because he wanted to be in Delhi on January 1 due to pressing engagements. He had asked the state government to suggest fresh dates for his visit for inauguration of the works on Vallarpadam Container terminal in Kochi and the International terminal of the airport in the state capital.
