A delegation of 1000 Gujjars under the leadership of ex-member of the metropolitan council Chaudhary Kalyan Singh yesterday announced their support to the Congress Party in the Delhi assembly elections to be held in November.

Chaudhary Kalyan Singh said that the Congress government has almost completed two tenures in the Capital. And the state has witnessed the rule of other parties in the past, but it is only the Congress party that has turned its promises and plans into reality.

Reacting to the announcement, president of the Delhi pradesh congress committee J. P. Aggarwal said, “I thank the Gujjar community for their support and wish them a bright future. It gives me a great sense of pride and honour. As a member of the Congress party, I am happy for the faith and trust that the Gujjar Community has entrusted in the party. The community has been associated with the Congress party for a very long time.”
